It is a great option if you’re looking for quieter and safe beaches, with calm clear waters, ideal for swimming. The area is considered as something of a geological phenomenon, with a huge rock in the sea which is said to move. We're not guaranteeing you'll see a moving rock - but we do believe you'll have a wonderful base for your holiday.

There are 3 excellent family-friendly beaches in walking distance of our properties in this area. Kounopetra beach is a wide, shallow bay with a gently-sloping access and has a delightful small taverna, Meltemi, where you can enjoy a long lunch or afternoon beer. Close by you’ll also find Vrahinari beach with the well-known Remetzo resort and restaurant. The beautiful Vatsa beach and the Spiaggia tavern are another option, where you can also rent boats to travel further down the coast. You can also cross the small river here on a footbridge and explore the remote area on the other side where you might even find the old WW2 defence ruins. Close to Vatsa you’d be crazy to miss the very popular and delightful Captain Nicolas tavern, run by the wonderful Yanna and her family, with delicious traditional home-made food.
Also very close to the houses we’re lucky to have the only waterslides on the island - a great option to wear our the children!
