I’m Kostas Voyatsis and along with my family, I own Alekos Beach Houses. You want to be sure you’re booking with the right people – and we want you to be delighted with your stay with us. We are a family-run business, operating for over 20 years, with 5* reviews from Booking.com, Airbnb.com and more. We recognize that booking a holiday comes with huge trust – and we take that responsibility seriously. We want to give you a holiday to remember, to show you the best that Kefalonia has to offer, and to help you fall in love with the island that we call home. |
I hope that you can see straight away that this isn’t a buzzing cosmopolitan destination - however we firmly believe that we can offer you everything that you need to make memories that you will treasure. Instead of organised tours, we will help you find a favourite secluded beach. Instead of 'all you can eat', we hope to share with you the most delicious local delicacies. And more than anything, we hope to delight you with the kind of service that our regular customers have come to expect. ‘Alekos’ was born out of love for this part of Kefalonia. In 1986, a ship owner and his family visiting from Athens approached my father, Alekos Voyatsis, and inquired about renting some of his accommodation. My father’s answer? “Tell me what you’re looking for and I will make it happen.” And so a business was born. Living in Athens during the winter, Alekos spent his summers on the island, renting out his properties. The business grew, with a second house being built behind the first in 1986. My father handed the reins to me in 2013, as he grew older, and as I looked for a change after a career in finance. Since then I’ve grown the business to include more than 30 houses; our own family properties and also those of neighbours, childhood friends, and new friends in the area. Today, we’re proud to offer you a personal collection of well-loved family homes; homes filled with stories, laughter, memories and the joy of childhood summers on the island. One of my father’s dear friends still rents his house out through us. His memories of my father (and my father’s skills as a natural host) are captured in this short poem he wrote in his memory. I carry this poem in my wallet to this day; it makes me smile each time I read it. |

August days; good old days. White-hatted ladies savouring the breeze of Ostria under his welcoming wide umbrella. Each has her place card. He has a place for the old and tanned; one for the free, another for the married. A towel for the wet ones, and cream for the parched.. Maestro Aleko, how they take care of you.... You know what they want - and what they have. written by Spiros Synodinos |
We look forward to welcoming you to our island. Kostas and family |
