About the accommodation As you turn off the road from Lixouri and down the narrow lane towards the water you’ll feel a sense of anticipation as to what you’ll find. Passing between olive groves you get a glimpse of the sea as you approach the pretty blue-shuttered home that is yours for your holiday. As you enter the tranquil building, you can see that this is a home that was built with a love of outdoor living, making the very most of the location, the views and the natural breezes that drift through the property. This home, which was the family childhood home of the owner, is peppered with personal artwork, traditional furniture and family touches throughout. The generous hallway and open-plan living space stretches in front of you, with a large dining table, sunken seating area and French windows leading to the terraces beyond. The kitchen is tucked off to the side of this central living area, with its own door to the terrace that wraps around the back of the house. Fully equipped and furnished with everything you will need, it also has a pantry area containing the washing machine. The house has 3 generous double bedrooms and another smaller bedroom containing 2 single beds. The first of these doubles is on the ground floor, along with a large family shower room. Up the sweeping staircase you’ll find two further large bedrooms, with high wooden ceilings. The large family bathroom is also on this level. The childrens’ bedroom is tucked into what feels like a lookout at the top of a mast, overlooking the gulf towards the mountains beyond. Throughout the property, inside merges with out, with various terraces, seating areas and quiet spaces where you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening cocktail. Outside, the property is surrounded by a wide expanse of gardens, with mature trees, pots of scented geranium and flowerbeds peppered with herbs you can use for your evening meal. Terraces surround the house on all levels, so you can catch the sun, or the shade, as you please. Strolling down from the terrace to a sandy path, you quickly reach the family-friendly beach. The gently-sloping coast and calm waters mean that young children can splash around safely. Please note that due to the gentle slope, deeper water for swimming is quite a distance out from the beach. For those looking for bigger waves and more excitement, the beaches of Petani and the north of the Paliki peninsula are within an easy drive of about 20 minutes. If you can drag yourself away from your terraces, you can drive the short 5km to Lixouri, where you can enjoy the many restaurants, cafes, ice-cream bars and all the other amenities you would expect. This is a stunning, spacious, family-focused villa, where you’ll make memories for years to come. Please note – The owner lives onsite in a separate self-contained apartment tucked away under the main house. |
