About the accommodation

Approaching Mitis via the long driveway through mature gardens and trees, you catch a glimpse of the imposing pink villa, the corner of the pool beyond, and the sparkling waters of the sea down the valley to your left. 

Entering the villa up a couple of outside steps, you find yourself in a welcoming, well-designed living space, with sofas around a fireplace, tables for working and eating, and well-positioned windows offering tantalising views of the gardens and the sea. The owners’ books and art are on display throughout the space; many pieces are the owner’s own work.

From the open-plan living area, you can enter the well-equipped large family kitchen, or step outside onto the covered terrace, with dining table and views across the gulf. Jasmine and bougainvillea climb the pillars, making this a heavenly spot to relax in the evening with a cocktail.

There is a wide staircase, and also an internal elevator, that takes you to the first floor, where you find two large bedrooms, both with en-suites; one is a bathroom, the other is a shower room. Both these light-filled rooms have incredible views to the sea, and doors that open directly on to a large roof-top terrace. Two further bedrooms and another bathroom are located in the semi-basement, which has direct access to the garden and pool area. It is here you’ll also find a small sitting area with a convertible sofa bed, and the laundry room.

But we expect you’ll spend most of your time outside! Mitis has a stunning swimming pool where you can while away your days! The surrounding terrace is adorned with mature planting, has comfortable seating, sun loungers, and a shaded tent area. There is also an open-air ‘pool house’ where you’ll find a WC, outside shower, sitting area and a BBQ. And combined with 12 acres of gardens, full of mature olive trees, oranges, lemons and palms, you’ll never be short of a shady spot for your siesta.

You’re spoiled for choice for somewhere to eat; the popular Apolafsi hotel and taverna is merely steps away, with a further traditional taverna and grill on the beach in Lepeda – about 1 km. And in the other direction, again about 1km, you have Lixouri town with its many restaurants, cafes, ice-cream bars and all the other amenities you would expect.

Mitis is a generous, unique family villa which you can make your home in Kefalonia. You won’t regret it.

Please note – we recommend the basement bedrooms are allocated to children, and the first floor for adults. Cots can be provided in the first-floor rooms for infants.
